I dont think that is his first time EVER playing that song acoustic. I read in guitar world that he wrote the main verse part while fiddling with the acoustic. Maybe first time playing it acoustic live for an audience.

Grohl sounds like the gayest guy in the world when he says "thanks" at the end. Its a little inside joke and my guitar playing roommate have that whenever someone does something for other, we say thanks just like that. its not funny, i know

did you guys listen to the new cd that got out in june titled In your honor?? I dowloaded it cuz the the 2nd CD is only Dave acoustic and some stuff is really good! I really like the song Over and Out ... I'm trying to learn it right now

EDIT: not just dave, there's a band, but dave plays only acoustic
