How do you play this and what does it mean. The fourth note in the song.

x on any string means a "mute". It is a percussive type of technique where you place your finger on the string without fretting it, and playing the string. It will make a dead, snap like sound with no pitch. It is used to add beats and act kinda like drums.

yeah, or just one of your fingers on your left hand. All you have to do is deaden all the strings...for the part youre talking about in liog, I usually just rest my bottom three fingers on the strings after hitting the b with my index finger.
