if you really were a beatles fan and had the info, that has nothing to do with Sgt Peppers. John never wrote a song about drugs until Cold Turkey, his first solo single about him and yoko quitting heroin.
Actualy, the main influence on the album was . . . the beach boys. Yep, their Pet Sounds album inspired John and Paul very much. Also, the beatles never wrote songs while on heavy drugs, or while they were recording (they only did a little weed and such, that's it). The few times they tried it, they just made crap. Also just so this doesn't get brought up, I'll answer it right now. Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds is about a picture young Julian Lennon drew. John loved the drawing, and wrote the song about it. Again, the beatles did not write drug songs.
Here's my repsonse.
In an interview published in this month's Uncut, Sir Paul admitted drugs "informed" much of the Beatles' music.
He said the song Got To Get You Into My Life was "about pot - although everyone missed it at the time", and Day Tripper was "about acid".
From Paul himself.
Here's the link from a BBC interview.
DO NOT BELIEVE FILMDUDE or RANTING THESPIAN when it comes to DMB/BEATLES history. You make think that statement is harsh, but I think it is completely wrong to make these statements that you so clearly stand behind, but they turn out to be bullshit.

Really? Damn, you are smart!
Im aware of that. But, I thought this deserved special attention, perhaps it's own thread. You are familiar with redundancy aren't you? Just look around this GDMB section, there are 20 threads about the new album, including a poll by me.
Anyway, I don't wan't people to get wrong information. RT, was very confident that the Beatles did not write music or make songs about drugs. I think he even solididfied his point by saying, "Again, the beatles did not write drug songs."

Naw, it's all good. This nonsense has been going on here for too long.
How've you been?? My life sucks as I'm in the ATL now till Monday.
That explains it all. Good, I finally got my PC back today. Not happy with Toshiba.

Despite me having minimal probems with my DVD writer, Im fairly happy with Toshiba. I might get another soon!!
I have been happy up until they had to actually fix something. I just can't believe it takes 2 months to fix something so simple.
Who did you take it to? Toshiba, CompUSA ,Bestbuy, Circuit City?
It was a Toshiba recommended vender. The problem was, the vender didn't get the new DVD drive until Monday. So totally Toshibas fault. Not to mention Toshiba's customer servie giving me the run around.

Does that satisfy you?
no it doesn't, it still should have gone in the other thread.
