Wouldnt superglue just prevent calluses from forming?

I know flea from The Chilly Peppers has a huge hole/indent in his thumb from going crazy on his bass. He fills it with superglue so it must work fine.

I'm telling you guys, "New Skin" is better! It is actually designed to be used for this exact purpose, and it kicks major ass. I use it whenever I go on tour with an orchestra. Playing 8 hours per day can really rip up a set of fingers!

(honestly if you wanna do it sand you fingers with a HIGH grit sand paper (200-400))

superglue will actually fuck up your fingers more. they create a hard surface on your fingers that pulls the skin right where the glue stops. sometimes the edge of the surface can get caught on the string, which is EXTREMELY painful.

so, don't superglue your fingers, just wait for calluses to build up

totally different situation, his massive hole is from slapping with his right hand, and he just fills it with superglue so it wont bleed

Its not really a different situation. Bassists i gaurentee get blisters on their rights hands just like he has on his left. Probably not much different. Though his reasoning for using the glue is totatally different. So I see what you are saying.
