***OFFICIAL BUTCH RULES THREAD***

Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

page mcconnel (sp?) is a god among men. listen to the Live One album and listen to the piano solo after squirming coil. the first time i heard it i took a serious shit in my drawers. BTW brock's first post reminded me of coffee talk with linda richmond.
Which is exactly what it's from.

I still think he smoothes out the sound too much. I like punch to the music, a little "backcountry" feel if you get my drift. Like they were on RR. And I think Butch irons it out too much for my liking.

I agree with mbgreen. I'll use Two Step as an example. On Red Rocks, and Folsom Field Two Step is a high energy tune. On Central Park Butch's solo (while very great musically) kills the energy of the song. However that is my Opinion, and I know that a lot of people love the newer Two Step.

well i like both...but i wouldnt say butch's cp solo kills the energy...cuz if you listen, when they go to the jam, they all drop it down like that, with stefan's noticable part, kinda eery in a way...so i wouldnt say butch killed the energy, id say he played off what was there. though it is possible that maybe it was planned like that to fit a solo...

overall, i like butch...and i dontknow of any songs where i think i wish he wasnt there, because usually on those, hes pretty quiet and just backs up dave.
