ok, sorry.

people have come on hear and saying that they tried to tune up from E tuning to B tuning and they broke their strings (no shit) you can tune yours strings down to B tuning, but the scale length on the guitar is not made for that so the chords are gonna be outa tune. I've tried this and its not actually that bad - it was pretty cool. you may want to worry about the neck warping cause of the difference in tension from Standard down to that and back to Standard - but I wouldn't worry so much.

they way I would tune it, is tune the low E string down, way down, until its 12th fret harmonic matches the A string on the second fret (B note) then tune the rest of the strings to your new low B string. Have Fun!

yes, that would put you in baritone tuning, but you forget that you never know is in raised b. it would sound pretty different in baritone. i don't think you can play raised b without changing the strings you're using or without a capo.

yeah, he must use special strings to play in the raised b tuning. The tension would be ridiculous otherwise.

i tried dropping all strings down 5 steps to b-tunning but it sounds like shit, not to mention it doesn't match jkanter's tab. thanks for the help though.

if you had read what we posted, you would've known it wasnt going to sound right. you can't simply drop your strings down 5 steps, your neck and the strings wont be able to keep the tension and it'll just sound like a big sloppy poop. plus you never know is in RAISED-B, which is a complete octave above baritone. this, also, can't be done without altering your string alignment or a capo.

If you're tuning down a lot to get into baritone tuning, use really heavy gauge strings. They provide more tension and convey their vibration to the soundboard much better than light strings when slack.

it does match jkanter's tab, just that every note is an octave off

you can still play along with the song. but yeah you need the heavy guage strings for it to be tolerable down there in drop-B tuning.
