Gravedigger (acoustic) questions

Is Dave palm-muting the strings during this because it sounds WAY too clean to be ringing strings. Maybe it's just my guitar, but I have a Taylor 414CE L30 and it sounds pretty clean. Next question: does anyone have videos/sound clips of the just the intro and verse? I have been watching the video from Clay Pigeons Jukebox (http://www.claypigeons.net/jukebox/matthewsdave_gd.html) but something slowed down would be great. Thanks guys

Also, it isn't palm-muted, it's just very quick harsh strumming at points, which cuts off the ringing of the strings in the chord before it.

I havn't seen or heard gravedigger on AOL sessions, I don't think I saw/heard them at all.

he dampens the strings he doesnt palm mute them

I have to agree. His palm muting on that video is pretty obvious.

He palm mutes a lot when he's playing solo or with Tim but with the band he's trying to cut through so he just strums and mutes like crazy.
