Such Great Heights

Unread post by briguy945 » Wed Mar 23, 2005 4:31 pm

Lately I've been playing Iron and Wine's cover of a postal service song called such great heights. Very fun little song to play and easy to sing over. Anyway a tab can be found here:

http://www.mxtabs.net/tab_versions.php? ... hts,187490

My question is if anyone could work out a tab for the ending of the song. It's played really high. If anyone needs an mp3 let me know bc fot he life of me i can't figure it out. Thanks much.

Wasn't that song like a techno song on the Garden State soundtrack? Either way it was a sick song.

I'd also like to learn Blue Eyes, by the Carey Brothers, and the Bonnie Summerville song Winding Road, off that sound track.

I wouldnt call it techno. It just has a heavy simple drum beat that kinda hits that electronica beat, but the guys who make up the postal service are very telented musicians and producers.
The rumor is that the whole album was made from the two guys sending cd's back anf forth two eachother via the postal service and they created the cd without meeting in the same room. dont know if its true, but a cool story none the less.

Yeah I guess it wasn't full blown techno, but compared to some other full blown techno I have by BT, it's pretty damn close. Either way, it's a sick song!

That's the correct story. Check out their whole album. Most of your would like the District Sleep Alone Tonight.

Yea everything you guys said was correct. The only thing is that I'm talking about a cover that Iron and Wine did. The entire song is fingerpicked and doesn't sound like the original. I have the mp3 if anyone wants it.

Okay I think I got a link to the song posted. If anyone can help me with the little solo at the end I will be eternally grateful.

I'm not sure what's wrong with it. I followed the sticky post exactly. Does anyone know what I may have done incorrectly?

Like I've said the original by postal service is techno-ish...but not really just kind of electronic sounding. The song that this post is about is played by Iron and Wine...which is fingerpicked on an acoustic guitar.
