What's wrong with that. I saw him live 4 times and think he is definitely capable of better. In fact, I wrote the same thing a few months ago and Brock Agreed with me. Ha.

Thank You, i did only start this thread to see why people liked Mayer so much on this board and why there were such frequent posts, sometimes people just follow along with what other people say. I never directly insulted someone and never would based on their musical preferance, thats just stupid.Any attack i made was provoked. Most of all some people took this thread too damn far as if i was insulting their way of life and their guitar playing. Its all a matter of opinion, as i said before i do think Mayer is a good guitar player and many people like him are sucked up in what other people want them to produce rather than the actual music that represents that artist. I am sorry if anyone got offended (except checkii, who was just an ass and didnt even give an actual defence for his stance on the issue, but rather wanted to feel superior to someone). I think we can all agree though, at least people are still creating music that we find interesting and unique. No matter what you like to listen to it doesnt fucking matter, thats what great about life no one can tell you what the fuck to like. They can only try to influence you in a way that they see satisfactory.

wow, me changing michael kelsey's name really affected my post. Real nice dude, keep being an asshole to some one on the internet you'll look mega-cool, bashing someone that just clearly wanted to end some stupid squabble is the cool thing to do now. I am fine with everyone else likeing what ever music they like and just wanted a dicussion with substance. If people like mayer thats them-- it doesnt really concern you. -- you can get off of your thrown as if you are the only person here who listens to good music--and get out of our asses.
Mayer has a style-- and he's very popular--meaning his music is out there and easily atainable-- which is the reason why there are alot of posts about him.
You can't deny that he is a good musician.

But, back to my point--
Its not about "who can kick ass better than whoever" on guitar--
its about feeling it-- and its about that solo that comes out and its EXACTLY what the player is feeling.

If you only listen to artists that "can beat someone else on guitar" then i do believe you've missed the whole point of music in general--
the passion for it.
