Okay, here is my opinion. If you think Led Zeppelin is greatest thing, then you have no right to say "listen to real music". If you think that Johnny Winter, Michael Kellsey, Frank Zappa Jimmy Page, and Jimi Hendrix are the greatest things ever....then you need to stop saying that people need to listen to "real music". In fact, it is easy for me to believe that you are an ignorant wanna-be musical know-it-all. My personal flavor lies in Bebop jazz. Which, imo, is one of the hardest forms of music to perfect. I believe that the pioneers of bebop are some of the greatest musicians to live. However, I have more confidence in saying this because I know about your musical tastes and can relate from trying to learn their style. Though, not to say that you havent listened to your fair share of jazz...but your musical beliefs make me skeptical.


But hey, that is my opinion, and you dont seem me getting agry at people that disagree.

i couldnt agree with you more on that note, the show i went to he started with some song that sound like Lionel Richie wrote, and then progressed to some of the best live blues i have heard in a long time. Mayer needs to ditch the fucking body is a wonderland and go straight blues.

The "pussification of America" (as you call it) is caused by mass-produced opinion on music. MTV tells teenagers what music is good and what to listen to. You're doing the exact same thing here. I agree. Mayer's songs are really boring to me... I don't know if it's his song writing or his voice. His voice fits much better as a blues singer than a pop singer IMO. I would love to see a blues CD come out by him, I bet it'd be awesome.

and about there being so many mayer threads... when I saw this thread I thought to myself "wow, another mayer thread?" It doesn't bother me though.

Here's a good article showing how John is planning a move away from all those cheesy songs. His next album should be a damn good one, I read in another article it's gonna be titled Continuum(sp?) and will most likely not be released until 2006. So we'll have to wait a while before we hear John's new stuff.

Ok, I reread the posts and below is pretty much the first page showing that you are wrong. Everything in Bold are his posts. Where is this moron guitar god thing? I thought he played all of the insults well that people threw at him. Wow, imagine that, People attacking a newbie at dmbtabs.
