Even sadder(sp?) is the fact that I am in contact with the guy and will be porting that site over to DMBTabs.com as a "Dave's Gear" section. Tuning can be a pain-in-the-neck (sorry). You may have wondered why it is that even after you have carefully tuned each string, it is often necessary to go back and make further adjustments on a few of the strings. This is because the neck moves slightly as you change the tension of the strings. Therefore you don't just tune the strings, you 'balance' the neck at the same time. The tapered headstock on Seagull guitars provides straight string pull, which minimizes the neck twisting effect. This insures that it will be easier to get your guitar in tune and keep it that way. This is particularly advantageous for the growing ranks of players who use open tunings.

I agree. I must say I made a thread ranting about how nice the Alvarez was that I played at the guitar place but I recently went back there and played two segulls that blew the Alvarez outta the water. the seagull had deep bass, great tone, and LOUD which is what I like. I can get used to the wider neck. so yeah now I wanna Seagull. the two I tried were Artist Series elecric/acoustic. one was Rosewood/Spruce, the other was Mahogany spruce. both had extremly dead strings on them but the guitar still sounded great. new strings and it'll be amazing. trouble is the cost of them. the price tags say like 1200 and 900. kinduvalot to fork over but it does have the electronics. anyway, Seagulls are great all around. some are bad but there are also some bad Martins out there.saleen wrote:I think that the Dave sound is more of a technique than what guitar you are playing.........
seagull guitars are sick, the tops scratch real easy if you don't get the gloss but they sound awesome, the neck is kinda wide too but you get used to it after 5 minutes.
peace
good, and you?
