I heard there was a video of Bob Taylor and some guest artists demonstrating the T5 at some convention. Can anyone supply a link?

That's pretty fucking cool. You can get either tone with a flick of a switch? Man, that's sweet.
Doesn't Line 6 have a similar thinline acoustic guitar?

I just wonder how good it would sound unplugged...not that it matters for performing, but it would suck if an amp was ALWAYS needed for any sort of tone.

I'm no expert, but I'm guessing you have to plug it in. I don't think you'll get any sound without.

of course you'll get sound, there are sound holes. i think the tone will be decent unplugged of course i cant expect great tone with a thin body, but it'll be better than playing electric guitars unplugged.

Does this new design maybe signal that Taylor is interested in eventually entering the solid-body, standard electric market?

This is definitely a stage guitar, not a guitar for taking on camping trips, off to college, etc... Buy a regular Taylor acoustic/electric if you want an acoustic that happens to plug in.

I think it's cool, but I still like the sound of a true accoustic better, imho.
