Neither. I use a free program called Audacity that is much better than Cool Edit Pro, which I had used before it.

i would agree if you dont have any experience with the other two programs, audacity is simple and VERY easy to use.

i highly advise avoiding sound forge unless you know what you are doing, it has a pretty steep learning curve

I recommend Acis Pro Tools. It is extremely user friendly and gives you infinite ways to edit, improve, and dial into even 64th size pieces of tracks that are laid out visually and very easy to modify. You can also sample infinite files for guitar, drums, bass, keys, and other intruments. Also, it's simple to get off of limewire or other shareware programs with a crack for any operating system.
The DMCB is officially broken up. 2-Step is stepping up to be the next best national tribute to DMB.
