Yes, I did. It's a single, and legaly I can record it off the radio for personal use, so downloading online is just as legal, imo. They also WANT us to hear it, they want to lure you into the album. I don't think this was the best one to put out first for the single musicaly, but I think the meaning behind the song is why they wanted to release it. If you don't get what I am talking about, it was written just a day or two after the Presidential Election.
I do like American Baby, though, don't get me wrong, but I think they could have released a better one. I again will NOT download the album.
then youd go help old ladies cross the street and donate to charities, sure, whatever
Also, I have NEVER downloaded any dmb cds, or tracks from those cds. When Everyday came out, I didn't download it. When Busted Stuff came out, I didn't download it. When Some Devil came out, I didn't download it. I will not download this album, and I never will download an album of anyone's (excluding the LWS, since there is no other way to get it), I will buy them as a cd.

Thieves always justify what they're doing in some manner. "Legally you can record it from the radio for your personal use?" I haven't looked at the laws, but I highly, highly doubt that. Not only is it property of the band, but the broadcast is property of the radio station. When it's on the radio, you don't have unlimited use rights. Since you d/l'd it, you now do. The bottom line is that the single is meant to be purchased with the album, and you stole it.
I'm a thief, so don't think I'm preaching.

Um, yes it's legal mb. As long as it's for private use, and not distributed freely or for money. You can do the same for TV. You can record it, but you can't distribute it.
And you think I am pulling this out of my ass? Here, I even called my local radio station, they said it's 100% legal! Why don't you call yours and check it out for yourself? You can record anything off a public broadcast. It's just for only personal use, no distributing, no burning copies for friends, or for any type of public performance.
So, you want to bitch at me? go suck an egg.
Anyways, I like the new song. It's not their best, but good.
You can record anything off the radio as long as its for personal use, you just can't distrubute it or play it for a shit load of people or anything. Ranting knows what hes talking about.

I would get it, then buy it. I've done this for a few bands already and I've enjoyed every moment of the leak and then enjoyed the real version 10x as much.
I don't know... it just doesn't seem that big a deal to me to get it early.

thank you!
Look up the "fair use" clause. It's legal for time-shifting purposes, NOT for unlimited use rights. The fact that nobody cares or would ever prosecute doesn't make it legal.
And I'm just busting your balls cause you put yourself up there on your high horse. Take your eggs and make some rotten pies.
