Butterfly cover

Post by You_Enjoy_Myself »

No, it's not Butterfly by Dave Matthews, it's Butterfly by Weezer off of their Pinkerton album. The guitar is tuned down a half step, and the whole song is only 5 chords, it's really basic. I'm still trying to find my voice, which is why I recorded this song, and I'd love to get some feedback on my singing. I personally think there might be a bit too much reverb on the voice, but my friend edits and mixed all my stuff for me, so he decided on the final product. Here it is, enjoy.

I think this might be the first song I've ever heard you do.

Great job man. The guitar is easy but flawless. Great rhythm, excellent job on the little single note parts between the chords. Excellent guitar.

The vocals seem to have a bit too much reverb, but still very enjoyable. I think you're flat a couple times, but know that I'm being EXTRA picky because the cover was awesome.

Solo was very clean. The song was altogether awesomely mixed. I give it an 8 and it's definetly a keeper.

Great job.

I actually don't have much to critique. The vocals were really solid and consistant. Guitar was spot on.
Props to you for picking a modest song as far as vocals. That's really the only way to go when you're trying to get better at singing.
Overall a great cover.

Hey YEM.

NICE JOB.

I never heard the song but I will critique you anyway.
I thought the vocals were pretty darn good. Your voice had one fall out at 1:32 to 1:34. It seems like that is the only vocal problem I heard.

The guitar sounded great & I found the levels suitable for reverb. Solo was very nice too.

8.7/10

I thought your voice went very well with the song, too much reverb for me though, but I guess that's personal preference... I didn't know the original in the first place and so I just downloaded it.
Great job on guitar as well as on the vocals. Keep posting
