I'm sure he doesn't string it himself (on tour at least), but you can google it and find some great guides.

just keep all your distances of the strings the same and everything uniform (like key turns and loop directions) and a good pair of side cutters! you'llget it!

i love it, it's relaxing to take care of a guitar...polish it up...and then it will sing back to you nicely...it's all karma.

Ole' Monk does it for him.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

I use the Gibson Vintage Reissue RestorationKit. It comes with metal cleaner, lemon oil, guitar polish, and a very handy tiny brush to get into the small spaces. I also use that Fender cloth, I forget it's name but it works great.
I change my strings about 1-2 months. When I do, I take all thge strings off, give my guitar a good scrub down, and restring.
I also bet Dave doesn't restring his "road" guitars, but the ones he keeps with him (like his yamaha, and if he keeps his one beat up 714) I bet he restrings himself.
Yes, I am in a box

I've gotten it down to a science. I can change strings on one of my guitars in about 5 minutes, 10 if I'm taking my time. I invested in one of those string winders. Those save a ton of time. They also have one you can attach to a cordless drill, but I think that's more trouble than it's worth.
