Tuning?

I am currently putting my electric in raised b tuning, however i cant figure out how to the second string tuned to an f#, an help?

I have all the other strings strung and in tune minus the second

you are using the appropriate strings, correct? you can't use a standard pack of strings

i was just thinking about it and my question was a dumb question,

anyways.... i know on my tuner i can make the tuner read it so that the note i want is a half step down (ie: if i want to tune down a half step or something i can just push a button) if yours has the same feature, you can just make it flat, and tune the string so it reads G

if that doesn't make any sense, because it's hard for me to explain, if you can tune without your tuner, all you have to do is tune the 2nd string so that it has the same pitch as 3rd string 4th fret, kinda like a normal guitar except the note is F#

if that doesn't help, then sorry, i'm an idiot.

thanks much for the help, i figured it out. the f# is the same as a Gflat or so it sounds on my tuner, what ever works

I never knew of a tuner that would show Gb instead of F#

I have a possible dave tuning question, though its not related to raised B. Does everyone tune their twelve strings to normal tuning? I ask because I play my dads taylor twelve string a lot, but he tells me to leave it tuned down a half step and I understand why. At normal tuning, the higher of the two G strings gets tremendous stress put on it and always breaks. Tuning it down a half step is not a problem when you are playing alone, but trying to jam withsomeone else makes it a pain. Usually when I tune the twelve string, I tune all the strings to normal pitch, then I slightly off tune the higher set by tuning them sharp. Should I try slightly off tuning them by making them flat instead? That may put less stress on the strings.

"tuning them sharp" would put more pressure on them, and it shoudn't keep breaking if its in standard tuning

yea, if you're jamming with someone just tell them to play a fret up.
