Need help with Stay or Leave

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Need help with Stay or Leave

Post by fliggil »

So my original intentions for an open mic was to do Billies, but I'm really enjoying Stay or Leave lately, so I thougth I'd play around and see if I could get it to sound good enough to play it. I've got down the verse and chorus, however I've rather stumped on timing for the "remember when we used to" and "what day is this" parts, basically the last 1/3-1/2 of the song. Could anyone possibly post a video or audio clip of these parts? I just get totally lost in the timing, thanks so much.

yea same here, i havent been able to find a recording of this song either so its been hard to figure out the same parts fliggil mentioned. the verse stands out in the song so it was easy to get that down, with or without the capo. if anyone could do a recording or video thatd be a big help, thanks!

I'm a bit confused, the site's tabs says

"What day is this..."
He sings "What day is this" twice but you play this once through

however it seems to be played like 2 or 3 times. Am I off here, or am I just having that much trouble distinguishing chord changes? Anyone interested in making a video for either standard tuning with or without a capo?
