very cool thing i figured out

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Now i know dave does not do this, but just try it it sounds amazing. grab your guitar, and tune it to DADGAD and play bartender and or ddtw. it sounds amazing when you strum straight through. you get a really nice added sound outa those 2 bottom strings that normaly isnt there.... also EADGAD sounds good when playing 12 string songs like grey street, and JTR, those 2 tuned down strings give a great ambient sound on those that actually make your 6 string sound about as close as your gonna get to a 12er.

just thought it was a nice way to mix things up and make some things sound better when jammin.

Huh. That IS a good idea. I'm suprised no one has suggested it before, because it makes total sense, esp. for solo turns.. I'm not aware if anyone has, anyway. Good call.

Dude, the only time I have ever played bartender or DDTW, I'm in DADGAD. I've figured out a bunch of kickass stuff for them. :)

I've tried it before, its the shit. play it along with a recording and it will blow even dave's guitar out of the water

barre chords, doesnt sound as full as the real chords, but you'd get those ringing strings still.

I remember your cover of Bartender was especially wicked Pat, with all the cool little licks and fills.

Mi gusto mucho! Es muy bueno!

Especially the chorus and outro. Great idea film. I'm gonna use that, just so you know :D
(i may or may not claim it as my own  )

and after going from "bartender" to "ddtw" you can go into "shelf in the room" by days of the new!

They recommended doing this for some Dave songs in a GWA a few years back.

Let me be the first to ask the stupid questions:

What is the easiest way to tune the guitar this way?
