tapping question

I don't have any problem just muting with my fretting hand index finger. Then I use my right hand and remaining left hand fingers to tap. You'll need some strength in your left hand pinky, though.

One thing may be that the guys who do the two hand tapping on acoustic are playing amplified. The double note, I think, can only be heard acoustically, and won't be picked up by the pick-up.

That was a dumb sentence, that last one, wasn't it?

I think you're right. I get the double note on my acoustic, but on my electric I don't get it.

thats correct because the pickup only gets vibrations that are above the pickup, bu i play an acoustic. so im still in trouble. and i tap mostly with my right hand, so muting the way you speak of isnt possible starslight

You know, if you play fast enough no one will hear the double notes anyways because they'll be so amazed by your hands moving around so fast.

no no, you can hear them. you cant necessarily hear the individual notes doubled up, it just all sounds like crap.
