theres a good dave and tim video of this song... i dont have it but ive seen it back from 97.. if someone has it just watch dave strum and that should help you out a lot

*shrug* the index is much easier for me to barre with. and i find it sets up my fingers much more nicely for the next part.

Actually, I find it easier & more fluent with the middle finger & use my index to slide.

I am the opposite. I use my ring, cuz I think its easier to do the slide directly after that barre with the index.

I use my Ring to slide on the low E, then use middle finger to barre the 5's, index to slide to 6.

I use my pinky, Dave's way sets up the next part perfectly, your index is right where it needs to be to slide 4\6. My two cents.
