my first guitar was a D-10s and it was/is a good guitar for the money. Stayed in tune, sounded fine and had good action/playability which is pretty much all you need when you're first learning.

I have a Washburn D21-S. Solid spruce top, rosewood back and sides. The guitar is very stable and stays in tune even though I play pretty heavy handed. It is my only guitar and I like it very much. I thnk they are a very overlooked guitar....very good value for the money.
I have the action set very low and I had the neck reworked to have extra heavy fretwires.
I'll probably never get rid of this one, but I do see me getting a better guitar in the future.
