fingers are better than pics

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I can use a pick well, i just choose not to, i think i can get better sounds with my fingers, but of course there are exceptions
Laughter come on downtown window
And we see faces walking back
Tonight everybody gonna remember
Remember in time...

I like fingerpicking...it would just be easier if I stopped biting my nails. Because of this crippling disease I usually use a pick...

i'll go either way, but pick usage is kinda of funny... i have two friends, one rarely ever uses a pick and one can not play without one.. guess which one is about a thousand times better? the pickless one :D

im glad i practiced both ways...
I doubt that just because the one doesn't use a pick he's a 1000 times better. I bet if you gave him a pick he'd still be a 1000 times better. I don't think a pick makes that big of a difference

not really, fingernails only come in handy if you are playing a classical guitar with nylon strings...

I just use my hands, without the pick. As for Crash w/o pick, it works. I use my thumb to do the bass notes and brush with my fingers. I have done fingerpicking exercises, so it's natural.

Hmm.. I'm not fingerpicking much lately because the strings really don't ring very much. I kinda get a dead sound.. do I need new strings? I haven't changed them since I got my guitar about 5 months ago.

Robby Krieger said his biggest regret when learning how to play guitar was learning how to play with his fingers instead of a pick

i can use a pick, but i'm more comfortable with my fingers. so, i've got the "fingerpick then grab the guitar pick from the knee to strum" thing down pretty good.
