Drugs and Musicianship

some of my best stuff comes from when i've been drinking. but the stuff i do when i'm shit faced is terrible. i guess it's the whole lack of coordination thing.

so i vote Drugs+Alcohol=good times and good music, but not good memories cuz i can't remember shit the day after i get totally ripped.

Haha...I'm obviously not a smoker. I read your post and tried to figure out what an eighth of hard liquor would look like. (As opposed to a fifth.)

I like drinking and having drunk sing alongs. Not much good for creativity, but it sure is fun.

caffeine gives me a mild yay effect that helps me speed up solos. turkey calms me down like weed and makes me wanna play slow fingerpicking folk songs hehe. pot makes me wanna hug my guitar sometimes more than play it but when i do good shit comes out, though i cant sing too well after smoking, im no marley hehe. alcohol always helps me perform and not be so self conscience which is a huge help. mushrooms opened me up to lead guitar, and in one night i picked up an electric for the first time and learned all the solos to phish's divided sky and a lot of harry hood (songs i never thought id even attempt in my life time, not the hardest for some, but difficult for me). when on acid i feel like i can play just like reynolds, though ill get sloppy after a while, but i can keep up and always come up with some good shit, though i wont be able to play any of it the next day.
all i can say is its cool that some of u have mantained a clean healthy lifestyle, but i wont lie, you are all missing out on something amazing and i hope one do you guys take a chance cuz u wont be dissapointed, as long as u do it right. Either way i know i have a pure, natural love for music and if i never saw another drug again it wouldnt change that, but boy do i love the combination of the two, nothing beats it, peace...

Mushrooms then? They are an all natural alternative. Easier on the body, too, and not as long lasting or quite as intense. There a kinder gentler hallucinogen.

Anyways... I also drink a lot when being on stages... And I smoke pot before my second set...

i was so stoned last night at my buddy's condo and saw he had this older washburn with nasty old strings sitting in his room. He never learned to play so it was sitting there.
Everyone was in the living room and I was in his room and just sstarted jamming out. I was so stoned, but everything I was playing came off with so much more style and rhythym and just sounded 100x better than normal.
None of my friends had heardf me play guitar. and right when I stoppped after playing for like 20 minutes, i heard everone sying it sounded sooo dope but I need to play louder so they can hear more. I was suprised.
