when people say they put something in their AIM getfile, does that just mean they opened it up for anyone to initiate a file transfer to or from that directory?

it means there is a folder on my PC with stuff in it that you can access through AIM and download stuff from it.

If these are big files, it should kill your internet browing speed because it will take up all of your upload speed. Are you located on a college campus or something where you have massive amounts of upload to share?

no not really, but go at it anyway man. theres like 5 or 6 leachin off there already. its not affecting me toooo much.

i didnt know multiple people could download the same files from your AIM shared folder.... do you just have it set up so that you dont have to give permission? I think thats how mine is set up right now.
