Go to a store. Find the guitars that are in your price range and play all of them! Keep playing guitars until you either get kicked out because the store wants to close or you find THE ONE! There is always ONE for you out there. You just have to look for it.

People can tell you which brands tend to have better results but when it comes down to it you ahve to chose the one that you love. That's the best advice I can give you about buying guitars.

Peace and have fun buying a guitar ( I love guitar shoping)

Yea I have been playing just a peavy acoustic electric on loan from a friend for a while and I have to give it back so I need to get one pretty soon. I dont have much to spend and a friend offered me her big baby taylor for like $200. I like how it plays, do you guys think thats a fair price (its like a year old, good shape)?

no thats not a fair price for a used one. here they sell for $219 in the shops. by the way you may wanna check out the 110 and 214 models. the 214 is a little more expensive, but the 110 you can get for about $500.

i'd recommend Ovations. They're purdy. But I'm sure these guys know what they're talking about more than I. I'm not big on guitar talk :)

I've played an ovation, sounds good for a silent guitar!
Doesn't even make good firewood cause it's half plastic.

take a look at tacomas... they're no martin, but for the price you're looking at, you're not gonna get a nice one. i prefer my tacoma to a low - mid end martin anyday

Yes I agree you should look for "the one". But that "one" better be an Ibanez. Like mine.

as andy said, check out seagulls. i've heard a lot of recommendations for them. or go with an Ibanez...i'm sure sarah's gonna beat you up. ;)

but uh...most of all, just go play them! we can only give you so many recommendations, but each person has their own individual tastes.
