My 1940 Martin D-45. It's the crowning achievement of the prewar genre. Martin made the first one for Gene Autry in 1933. They only made 91 of them, of which maybe 70 survive. People don't sell them once they own them. I know someone who has 15! When I bought my Martin D-45, it cost about $80,000 to $90,000; now it runs between $150,000 and $180,000 :shock: . It's in excellent condition, except for a little bit of pick wear.
