timmy in DDTW...

what the fuck is he doing? mainly in the intro. i see him just smacking away at one of the strings with a slide on his finger (i think) but i can't see how he gets that sound. anyone?

Yes and no, in the BTCS and Chicago versions, he uses distortion, wah, and mutes the strings. In storytellers, he smacks the low drop-D string and uses clean wah with an acoustic.

On Storytellers, he uses his looping equipment quite liberally to get that cool scary horror movie sound.

yea in the video you can see where he is just playin the open D while doing some killer picking and muting.. i guess they dont call him tim reynolds for nothing :)

Does anyone have a list of the effect petals that he uses in that song, and the whole storytellers set basically?

There's gotta be more than that for acoustic shows. It gives a line up in that interview in the L@LC tab book. His electric rig is on timreynolds.com I believe.
