So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

So, ive been scared of Dave Matthews songs( Been playing guitar about 9 months). But with a new guitar in hand on Christmas day i decided enough was enough. Now within a week a have learnt Crash, Lover Lay Down and Granny. How happy am i? Just thought id share it.
I need more now, im addicted. But ive tried #41 but im finding the streach is abit to much at the minute. Tried Jimi Thing, but i think thats a couple of soungs to far for me at the minute.
Any ideas?

the stone, nice one man ;) lol

Well, Big Eyed Fish is good. IF you want to rock, try some Drive In Drive Out. Spoon is a great acoustic song, and uses main open chords. Rapunzel is good, and PNP/WWBOM is great too. If you want to get heavy, try What You Are. If you want to get more emotionaly and love song, do the Space Between. Also, Raven is a good one to throw in. If you need help on doing basic Dave chords, do Two Step

I wonder if its play to recognize the song or I can jam that song out? For instance I can play a lot of DMB songs that you would recognize, but I can only really jam on a few of them… I guess everyone has a different interpretation on being able to play.

Always wonder about that…

Some good ones to learn are Satellite, So Much to Say, Stay, Granny, True Reflections. The Stone is good too you just have to be really good at picking. Gravedigger is pretty easy, so is Grey Street, Big Eyed Fish, and Crush isn't all that bad and it's really fun to play. Well good luck. Hope I helped

its weird tho, if you practice that riff enough, it becomes like 2nd nature and you can do it exactly the same over and over and over again and you can play it like uber fast. its very instinctive when you get it down. and fun
