Just a quicky. When i see this for example ( 12 ) what does it mean? Why is it in brackets?

i think it means that its only played sometimes, or that you just play it very lightly...something like that

They are kind of "optional" notes, or implied notes. You may see something like this:

The note in the B string is implied or "optional" in this A chord.
