well this is the last year for the real bonnaroo... MTV bought it, and the first MTV run festival is 2006.

i dont know when it happened, recently.... i didnt believe it when i first heard it, but enough reputable sources, and friends that went to the 04 festival have said this.

that doesnt make sense, bonnaroo has never really needed to be advertised and easily brings 90,000 people in. why would they want mtv in control, i dont see what if any benefit could come, i dont think theres any more room on that farm for more ticket sales

its looking like mtv didnt buy them out, it seems the mix up was caused by the fact that mtv and mtv2 began advertising the festival because some mainstream bands like maroon 5 had joined the list but there has been no statement of anyone buying them out, but mtv will be present at this years fest just as they were at last years. if anyone finds anything else out regarding this topic please post about it...

3 of my buddies followed the whole east coast leg, took at student loans to do it and they saw coventry and everything pretty much on the east coast out to alpine valley and back, i wanted to, but i couldnt justify going to huge debt for it, plus i had a job

i havent heard any official statements, but about 5 or 6 friends that went have said this, other people have said this, and when ive mentioned it in conversations with otheres bigger into jam bands than myself, they just shake their heads and go "damn shame..."
