Any experiences or tips to share? I'd also like to know how exactly I should go about wiring this to the soundcard
Novice mixing board suggestions?
Novice mixing board suggestions?
Working on a budget novice recording studio for my computer So far, I've ordered a B1 Studioprojects all-purpose mic and an Audiophile 2496 soundcard, both to the great help of other forums and friends. Now, I'm on to the mixing board. What I had inmind was a Behringer UB802 8 input- it's $50, great price, and it seems from reviews that it's a good buy for the price and quality. Phantom power for mics and 2 working preamps built in for them to go through. Zzounds entry is here: http://www.zzounds.com/prodsearch?form= ... B802+mixer

As for to the sound card you need this to the soundcard:

Get two of them and have 4 mono tracks or two stereo. You also could get another and come out of the soundcards outs back to the mixer so you can control the final mix.
EDIT:Sorry just looked at your card. You could just use rca cables from the board to the soundcard.

exactly, hes setting up a studio, and weve gotten some really good recordings off that little thing and been able to do some nice work in a laptop on some cheap software.crash_in_to_me wrote:i own the 1202, and its decent, but if you plan on using it for live shows any time soon, get a bigger one, this one has only 4 mic insfilmdude100cms wrote:thats a good one, get this one though...

Alright.. thanks for all the help. The setup is basically just for getting started, I'll upgrade as time goes on. The Yamaha was one that looked good as well... does it have phantom power? If the preamps are good, it might be worth it. For inputs.. I'm just planning this for home recording, guitar, mic, bass.. misc instruments with the mic. Should I really be looking at 12 inputs, or will 8 cut it?
yeh, just make sure you have enough mic inputs for whatever you're trying to record.
