Sometimes...late at night...

Do you ever crave to play sometimes at night but it's too late and you'd wake people up? Well I do all the time. Up until a few nights ago I would play my acoustic really really lightly..but it wasn't any fun to hold back. Then I realized I could just grab my electric and play it unplugged as hard as I want without making a shitload of noise. Just thought I'd share with everyone..I'm really just very bored.

ever play yourself to sleep when you're REALLY tired, but also want to play guitar just as much as you want to sleep? now that is interesting. haha.

Yep, been in that situation. It sucks...it's like a moral dilemma.

Yea, I can play dave..big deal.. I cannot play any other style anymore and I hate it

lol...listen, you like dave. and thats what made you know what you know.
find ONE other artist (different genre) that you can get passionate about like with dave, and you will learn their stuff like with dave's, and you will have learned a WHOLE new style.. THEN..
you mix them both,
and you develop your own..
and you will find yourself 10x more better.
And you dont suck.
I started with dave.. found mayer...which got me into blues.. found buddy guy/bb king/clapton/eric johnson/chili peppers/zeppelin/hendrix/SRV and its a chain reaction.

I disagree..I listen to more than just dave.. I just don't have any fun playing things other than dave, and attempting to play timmy stuff.. there are some songs, stairway to heaven and some other classics, that I have fun with, but everything else bores me till where I get sick of playing guitar

get headphones for your amp...then you can play your electric all night long with no worries...i live in an apartment complex, so i was worried about that too...the headphones solve everything...get the studio-type headphones that pick up the sound completely

When I lived with my parents I couldn't play past 11 o'clock, and it pissed me off because I do some of my best writing late at night. Now I can play at any time, which is so damn nice. Me and the roommates actually have some pretty loud jams at 3am when we come home from the bar. No neighbours have complained......yet.

yeah teh whole house is asleep at around 930 which is sooo early. i am guitarlist at that point, but i use that time to write lyrics. an unplugged electric can still get reaallly loud tho lol if you have heavy strings on them.

if only the room is soundproof!
