I'm looking to pick up a Ipod in the near future but I have been looking into the Dells, Nomad Jukebox and the Zens. You might want to take a look at the last two. Here is a link for the 5 GB zen,

The new zen is pretty slick. Get that if you dont mind its weight. Ipod is wonderful too. Go get a FM transmitter, its the most awesome assessory.

I would just like to say that i got an iPod for christmas and it didn't turn on out of the box. Unfuckingbeleivable, maybe I would understand if there was some problem with the software or something but the fucking thing doesn't turn on. I would have hoped they had better quality control but apparently not. Now I have to wait for apple to send me a box to send mine back in before they will send me a new one. Fucking bullshit, if mine was returnable I would have done it in an instant. This was probably the most unhappy I have ever been with a product.

Oh, and to piss me off even more they told me to try and reset the firmwire, the problem was the screen only works when it is plugged in so when it told me I had to unplug it from my computer and plug it into a wall outlet to rest I plugged it in and the ipod was giving me the message to plug it into the wall WHEN IT WAS ALREADY PLUGGED IN. I am fed up with this crap.

yea man, I tried restting it, updating it, everything. Apple said it was defective........ I am soooo pissed.
