Maybe I didn't read closely enough, but that preamp seems like mic only. If you need multiple inputs to the computer, you need a mixer to mix all sources down to one output. I'm not really sure what the purpose of that soundcard is, since it only has a standard (1/8") mic input, you already have that. Yes it would keep you from having to reach around the back of the computer, but if you want something that will really help you check out something like this. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=r ... id/703606/
That has dedicated XLR and 1/4" inputs, would be much better for you I imagine.

i still dont get how i am gonna set up thing. Supposedly the audio card connects the preamp to the computer... cuz how else will the preamp connects to the computer.

and for the Maudio fastrak, i'd love that but can you have more than one line in? plus a condenser mic? i dont think it supports phantom power.

someone should make a FAQ of the whole process

Apparently that mixer does have more than one channel. In one of those reviews someone says they use one channel for an electric and another for an acoustic. That sound card isn't bad, but if you really want to get serious about recording then it is not the right thing to get.
