Yeah, it definitely is cool. I bought a ProTools manual on how to use it, but I haven't been really able to dig deep into using it. Right after I got it, I bought a house, started a new job, got married, blah blah blah. Just haven't had enough time.
That's also put a damper on the money I am able to spend on my "home studio". Before I got married, I could buy whatever I wanted. Since 2001 when I decided to start learning guitar, I've been through about 10 guitars and a bass, and was able to buy a compressor, amps, preamp, MBox, etc. Since then, I've sold off a lot of the guitars, and basically have kept the highest quality stuff. I actually had a Tak Eg334sc like you have, but I sold that, an Alvarez, and a Daneletro 7 string and bought an Alvarez MD95. It is not acoustic electric, so now I have to mic it to record. I have a Shure 57 and 58, and also a MXL57 condenser to mic the guitar. Not the greatest condenser, but I wasn't (and still aren't) in a position to get a Neumann or something like that. I also need to pic up some studio monitors at some point so I don't have to mix everything with my headphones. They are top of the line headphones, but only the person wearing them can hear, obviously.
I like this recording, the way the mics are set up give this a "live" sound but clean as well. The vocals warm up near the midddle of the song, but sound great after that. good work
Nice Job!! I would really like to see some tabs on this also. That build up in the middle sounds like it would be a blast to play. If you don't feel like tabbing it out can you list the chord progressions?
