Best version? dave? hendrix? dylan?

i'm a big fan of the Folsom Feild version, i think the jam midsong is the best out of all of em. :D who doesn't wanna belt this out on stage with a full band in front of hundreds of people?! heheheh

i tried to make a poll for this but there was an error in it lol. anyway, i think chicago is the best watchtower ive heard. hendrix does an amazing job though. ff is great too.

robert randolph at MSG is cool. and john popper. FF is the best of the released ones i think.

I really like the version Hendrix did, and the DMB version from Chicago is very good with Tim.

LS is so clean and well done, but the one off Recently EP is so raw and early cool...I especially like it when Dave starts the jam in the middle...just the guitar...he does the main riff, then slides to the harmonics and quickly recovers for Roi to come in...

yea so im 11 days late on this poll (oops) but i think the farm aid solo (2002) is a great version for Watchtower... it gets me goin when i hear it.. its just my opinion, but man, i even listen to folsom field and just think if he did it solo there..

i agree w/ firedancer... i saw him live (i was backstage in Ames) he is a phenom as a songwriter, but singing.. a little edgy...

yeah his voice does sound quite terrible nowadays (he's even admitted that himself!). his original recording of watchtower is still my fav. i love hendrix's and dave's version, but there is just something about that recording...
