kinda quiet, lots of noise, but I just can't seem to get it to pick up any louder, the volume is all the way up on the mic.............

sounding good...a little low (like you said), but everything I heard was cool man...mixing OTH and Tangerine...very cool...just some minor rythm issues in small places, but it sounded great man...keep it up :wink:

that picture <- is my car, check out my site for more info.... http://www.saleen00925.com I use a shure sm57 mic, but I can't get it to records loud enough on my computer, on my buddies 4 track it sounds fine but I think it might be the cable, I could only find one brand that made the mic->1/4 inch plug with only 1 band thingine on the tip and it seems kind of janxee.

the truth is, sm57's aren't that great for direct recording of a guitar because its unidirectional. the best use of that mic is to place it in front of an amp. turning up all the way is the only way to record a guitar directly(especially if you are plugging into a computer), but of course you get all that fuzz. if you have an amp, record it instead of the guitar.
