I'm surprised no one has given feedback yet. Anyway that's an awesome song Fire. Very very strong "core ideas" and your improvising although not perfectly clean is really fun to listen to. You do a great job mixing it up with the improv. Only suggestion would be to tighten it up and give it more structure.
Maybe try a key change or an unusual chord shift. I always try and incorperate a range of moods within a song. In my opinion a good song takes you away and back again. Seems obvious enough but you see it less and less these days. Listen to Leo Kottke's Ojo. The verse is very folky and upbeat and then it go's into this brooding intense part. I listen to that song because of that mood shift...it's fucking brilliant.
Keep this one on the front burner though. It's bags are packed, it's at the airport, just send it home.
Why the hell hasn't anyone else responded to this...DAMN!!!
That transition from the intro..at around 0:49...that was sweet man..
Are you using dropped C tuning? The base note slapping sounds incredible!
I'd say this is a keeper, there is a lot of great idea's in there.
2 tracks? Damn......did i say damn? I've saved this one...
Are you gonna put some lyrics on it or just instrumental?
well thanks (you 2 ))...its in standard...I have been fooling around with the intro/verse part a bit more (back on a dl-4 binge 8) and think I will post it soon...as for lyrics, I hope most all my music to have lyrics eventually, but I am having too much fun just writing and improving stuff
oh, and I have a FOR Her ver 2.0 ready with the dl-4...just another take on the song...just the main 3 chord progresion, but I have some light tracing fills that I would do for a solo show...a new take on the song...
now the true test...doinf it all with one track with the dl-4
man, that was really sweet. i was just listenin to some old posts cuz i had some time and some headphones. when the song really got goin in the middle, damn, that was nice stuff. just thought id pat you on the back. i think im saving that one. 8)
