yeah i know you CAN, im just sayin, vic chooses there probably because it sounds better there and keeps the balance of high and low...im not sure but i would think a bassline with a low solo over it would be a little too much low end.
right... i'd imagine one of the strategies of playing with another bassist is one plays in the lower register and one plays in the upper so it doesn't sound too muddy.
exactly

vic would overplay dmb, its just a fact. can you imagine him on seek up? instead of the nice melodic groove it would be SLap SLAP SLAP BONK CHICK cah cahchacha pop slap. he plays lead bass, we don't need a tim reynolds on bass.

Listen to Vic's version of Amazing Grace..that is played low most of the time and I love it
its solo...he plays a high melody(harmonics) and a low bassline together...and i agree, it owns, but we were talkin about playin with other people including bassists

wait how do you know what vic would do? hes a great musician he wouldnt make the song worse. it might be different, but if he was the original member, you wouldnt complain about whatever he did. vics god he doesnt overplay when its not better for the song in his opinion.

i was talking specifically about the energy, you take things too literally - we are using a hypothetical sense sine this wouldnt actually happen. and im sure vic can accomodate to the band's bass style.

Of course. When vic plays with the flecktones he doesnt' overplay because that's how he plays with them all the time. with dmb, he would overplay because stefan doesn't play as busy as victor, not even half as busy. i've listened to vic before i was even into dmb. i've seen vic play, it's just how he's going to do it. he can't touch a song without having a solo. he just can't. ever song he's in there is some kind of solo, except for possibly the quietest flecktones songs, which are usually on fretless and in which he usually has some contrasting melody.

Vic's a good guest, but I don't think he'd gel well with the band. And I just don't know why you'd want to get rid of Leroi.
