raven 'breakdown' question

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

raven 'breakdown' question

Post by mac4140 »

the 4th chord in the breakdown just doesn't do it for me...anybody else feel this way...i trust jkanter that he tabs what dave plays, but is that 4th chord right?

the 4th chord in...
----------------
----------------
-2--2--9--9---
-----------x---
-x--x--x--7---
-1--3--8------

should it be 7x-7 or anything else...or is it right the way it is...any insight appreciated....peace

I agree with you, it doesn't sound right to me either, but I think you're not supposed to play them as chords, but like this:

-------------------
-------------------
-2--2----9----9--
-------------------
-x--x-------------
-1--3--8---7-----

But I'm not sure if that's right either, I think it sounds better than plaing them as chords, but I'm not positive.

I don't have my guitar with me at the moment, but this seems like the most logical answer.....

It is definatly correct! If you continue on with the song, it fits, if you play JUST that it sounds a little off.

Just my opinion

ha my fault...i posted 7th on the E string...meant A string...i'm right with you guys...i think it should be 7x-7 instead of -7x9 like jkanter has the site...sorry for the confusion

I thought that maybe you meant the 7 on the A string. Kanter fixed that, though.
good, and you?
