Possibly (to compliment with the muting, trapping, etc.), you could just add links to advice pages...example...>>>

Muting...>...and from that link, take the viewer to a Muting topic page with nothing but handy advice collected form different players...(none of the crappy filler with the post)...just hands-on advice from some people on here...informative and clean cut little commentaries...or just make a seperate page for it (where nobody can post, just read)...another example...>>>

i know alot of people ask for the up/down stuff for songs but i think those videos you do and just listening to the song (repeatedly i might add) should be encouraged before Up/down should be talked about if at all. i just don't think up/down can capture the whole tone of the strumming and the technique and all those little things you can only see in a video or hear in the song.

Yeah i think the really big help is gonna be videos of the right hand movement , that should clear up those problems for those who can't get the rhythm down , or they could just play it their own way :) That ain't the same i know , and some people just wanna get it right but ....

Yeah, and sometimes the ^ or v just make things harder. I tried learning a song like that and I felt so constrained by the up and down strum instructions that I couldn't even get it to sound close to what the song should have been. Plus, figuring it out for yourself makes it sound all the better, and you remember it :)

The ^ and v aren't strumming instructions, they're bends (at least I think...). (^ = bend up, v = bend down)

I think he's talking about when the ^'s and v's are under a tab indicating whether it should be an up or down stroke. Because people had been suggesting reflecting the strumming in the tabs on this site.

yes, ^ & V represent bends, when they are within the staff....underneath the staff they represent the stroke.....

I know theyre not in his tabs right now, but people are requesting that he represent the strumming in his tabs and if he were to that would be the most likely way to do it. And it is confusing and that is what he was talking about.

Key

Unread post by viewfinderps » Sun Jun 08, 2003 4:03 am

It might be interesting to know what key's dave likes to play in or what key a particular song is in. I know that would probably help me to figure out what he is doing.

This may sound like a stupid question, but has dave, tim, or any other member of the band ever visited this site? You have to get approval from DMB copyright people in order to run this site, so I wondered if that involves any of the band members, too. I'd hate to think that dave finds this site and snickers to himself: "whoa. that is not how I play stone or bartender or WTWE or whatever." By contrast, he might be impressed by your tabbing accuracy. :?:
