Ants Go Marching

Hey guys, I know how the song is played but I want YOUR way of playing the intro... the 4/5 4/5 G... then 4/5 4/5 D part....
4 4 5 5/7

Which fingers do you use for the 4/5 4or5 slide?... I'm trying to find the easiest possible way and would like for some opinions, thanks.

Ants Marching, there's no go.

after D use the middle to slide, index on 4

after G use index to slide, middle on 5, middle 5\7

it's how dave does it.

That's interesting, I never thought of trying that.

I play D 4-5 with middle, 4 pointer, repeat --00--
G 4-5 middle, 5 ring finger repeat --00--

I don't know if that is the best way, but that's how I play.

i learned it that way and really never do the slides
sounds close to the same though

My friend only knows Dashboard and fucking Yellowcard so he tried to learn Ants to impress me and my other friend how can play Ants but he hammers it and it sounds terrible, just slide man!!!

i use middle on both slides ...then index on the 4 and middle on the 5

I use both hammer-ons and slides. Here's how I do it:

After the D:
--------4-------4---
----4h5----4h5---

After the G:
--------5-----5---
----4/5---4/5---

Kinda weird, but yeah, I like it.

Depends on my mood. If I want to play it laid back I'll slide. If i'm playing it...hard...and... .... .... with alot of bounce i'll hammer.
