i'm sure this isnt going to turn out good. my wrist hurts sometimes, but only when i type, and rarely when i play guitar. i think it is caused by guitar though because i've never had this problem before.

are there any stretches or anything i can do to help out?

There is many sites out there with different kinds of tips and tricks to try as warm ups etc , i most play some stretchy chords or just stretch as much as i can up and down the neck , and then i shake my hand for a while and then im ready :)

Try making a search on Google.com for guitar warm up tips and such

I would recommend playing the opening riff of Satellite over and over. Play it the way Dave does - between the 4th and 8th frets - and you'll definitely loosen up, strengthen, and stretch out the hand.

hand hurts

Hey-
I had/have the same problem. My hand will hurt and I kinda go numb and lose strength in it. It happens mostly while I am typing, but also after alot of guitar. Basically I've just tried to have good form while typing and while playing and this had helped out alot..... hope this helps.
Sonmetimes I would try to catch her, but I never even caught her name.....
