tune every string down 5 half steps (5 frets)

Or capo on 7th fret.

That's the tuning Dave uses on You Never Know. He uses the lower tuning, on a baritone guitar, i think.

don't try and tune your regular guitar with regular strings down to baritone tuning. it won't be able to keep the tension and the strings will just flop around. i've seen people that have altered guitars in order to be able to drop them that low, but normal guitars just aren't cut out for it.

ditto, it'll screw up your neck too
