Who is a better guitarist?

seriously, not lookin to start fights. but ive been listenin to my john mayer CD's and im thinkin, "dave is much better" then i grab some john tabs, they look easy, and i cant play them for the life of me. and i can play most of daves stuff... sooo here is the question i pose...

who is a better guitarist? John Mayer or Dave Matthews...

im torn, Daves style is much more original, but once you get the hang of his style it isnt hard anymore. John's stuff sounds nice as well, and looks simple on paper, and the actual notes and formations are easier that daves, but his timing and stuff is much more complicated to me...

im sure this will get interesting, and please no fighting, i dont want this one gettin locked like the last one.

This thread just isn't going to turn out well at all

Dave has better rythmatic guitar riffs. John is more about the lead and the like

I think Tim and John (and it's obvious who wins that) would be a better comparison, Dave's style is nothing like Mayers.

will, this thread has been beat to death with a hammer. we used to see thread pop up everywhere and get up to lik 20 pages of people fighting over dave and mayer. i mean come on! each thread is the same!

Maybe Dave's stuff is easier to you than Mayer's stuff because you have spent a lot more time practicing dave's stuff.
