umm.. im going to excuse that because youre new, but john mayer is not gay. he is awesome. he is a great guitarist, and he deserves more respect than being called gay.

Nsync did rip a song up at some award show though, it was the only time I was blown away. I am not going to even research it though..

I'm still trying to understand why anyone would even indulge this conversation. who cares if dave isn't the most talented guitarist, he makes good music. It really doesn't get anyone anywhere to argue who is better or who's not. Dave is great and just because this mayer guy has more talent doesn't take anything away from the music Dave has made or anything he's accomplished. Perhaps both of these guys deserve credit as great guitarists in their own right and leave it at that. who cares if mayer can play Dave's songs better than him. He might be able to play it but he probably coudn't have come up with it himself.

Yes Dave write some awesome songs , no one never said he didn't here , but talking down on Mayer like he don't know what he is doing , is pretty lame since he probably knows more about what he is doing than Dave does , but still they are both awesome musicians and they both should get respect

I wasn't talking down on Mayer. I was simply expressing my opinion that they are both good in their own right and to speculate as to who can do what better seems to be pointless. Not everthing is competition. Why not just enjoy what both have to offer? If people want to sit and argue over something that really makes no difference then that's their perogative. I just don't see the point in doing so.

I was talking to my wife about this topic ast weekend. She's a huge dave fan who knows nothing about guitar, told me that dave had only taken guitar lessons wen he was 9 years old and that john mayer dropped out of some art school of music named juliard or something. She said it's clear john is a talented guitar player he had to be to get into college for it . Dave she said was more like a Hendrix self taught with a style all his own I agreed. She later said I know it takes you months and months to learn to play one dave song. see how long it takes to learn a John Mayers song.
and make a decision based on experience.

Its the fingerings in Mayer's songs that makes them somewhat harder , his extensive use of his big thumb is what makes me go " what the f*ck " lol
