Like the beginning of my WAREHOUSE MP3 where Timmy goes off into a reverberated fest and Dave does the eerie moaning...when I compete, i will have a really tight version that I have been working on!!!
I play it a little differently though...It gives it more depth...if you would like, I could prob. tab it out quick...thats if you want it.
A couple of pointers for playing this (as well as any other song - especially Dave - ); PLAY ALONG WITH THE LUTHER COLLEGE VERSION.
I tabbed this and play all of WAREHOUSE by EAR - that's just how I learned it. Keep the LOW E (bassy notes) constantly strumming on that 7th fret. Mute your heart out when you want to quite down and when you pick up the emotions (passion), play it open (riff -5-) and get the full up and down sounds (drag your pick up and down the strings but keep the speed).
You will notice on the LALC cd that Dave sings the passion along with the notes he changes on the A string while keeping the solid Bm root rolling.
The trick when you are doing a solo gig is to keep the presence of the rythme no matter what the cost...when you practice this, keep it moving at an even tempo - if you mess up or lose place, just "feel" your way back in while kepping the bass notes going and nobody will be the wiser when you come back in. Get caught up in the PASSION and JUST KEEP IT MOVING! Don't play too much of one part but like I said (probably a million times now), feel the riffs in by EAR. (The best thing for a single man team to learn is to keep his ear sharp and quick!)
Well now that I have lulled you to sleep with my shpeal...on to the tab!
START OUT WITH THIS RIFF (1)
e--------------------------------------------
B-------------------------------------------
G-------------------------------------------
D-------------------------------------------
A-------x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x------
E-------7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7-7------
(keep on with the and UP and DOWN strokes on every other 7)
SECOND PART (after about 20 sec. or whenever you feel the change coming) RIFF (2)
after this for aprox. 10 sec. go onto PLAYING ALONG WITH DAVES SINGING (passion)... when his vocals go up, go to the note on the A string that matches it while keepin at least the bass notes going.
I use this fingering so I don't have to change my hand around...Riff (3)
NOTE: see how the fingering wraps so you can just add and remove the A string note without stopping the RYTHME?
***LISTEN TO LALC TO HEAR THE "PASSION" AND EITHER ADD OR REMOVE THE A STRING NOTE (UP AND DOWN) WITH THE VOCALS***
Now for the fills I use...just jam aound in Bm and keep that bass note going while strumming every other strum - up and down - (I really don't care about redundancy at this point...it's late and I am trying to get across the most important thing in playing this song)... RIFF (4) - look up at my writing where I mentioned this part...
You want to throw this in for an even amount of measures to really PASSION UP between Riff (3)

REALLY LAY IT ON THICK HERE````````QUIET IT DOWN AGAIN FAST```
After you get to the Quiet part again ( after about 5 sec. of that open eerie motion), play softly for about 5 sec. and slam back to the open position)...rinse and repeat until your heart is content.
One last fill I just improved a sec ago...RIFF (5)
OMG... I thought your post said "KISS MY ASS"
wow...took a second for my eyes to sdjust lol!!!
cool!
Glad you like it!
Do you need me to clear any parts up for ya' (its very hard to convey music without either visually showing them or having a clean cut audio clip), but, glad you like it!
Heh, I know the song but that still helps, if you listen to L@LC with the bass all the way up, its kinda hurts b/c the bass E on the 7th keeps playing constantly.
