Oh and by the way, I'm writing what I think is my best work (in CGCGCE). I'm also thinking about going ahead and getting a Tascam 122 for recording, along with that other mic you suggested.
Great video, I always love to see guitarists like this.

I'm glad you like the video.
Looking forward to hearing the new tune. Are you gonna wait till you get the new gear to post it?
I'm hoping to have it somewhat complete by this weekend, then I'm going to see if it can go over to a family friend's studio (the one that has the professional equipment) to record it.
I'm really liking it though, I think it's a step up from my others.
Yeah, that's the way to go, man. Always try to outdo your last composition and learn something from it all. That's how to get better efficiently.

That was good but not amazing. Amazing is Don Alder. If you've never seen his video do a search and you'll find it. Now thats an amazing fingerstyle artist.

Don Ross is the only player in history to win the National Fingerpicking Championship twice so I think he counts as amazing.
What amazes me is that someone will always say 'he's not good THIS guys good'.
At this level of playing there's no "more amazing". It comes down to personal preference. I listened to some Alder and I wasn't blown away by the music, the technique yes, but not the music. See there's that personal preference thing again.

I've started tabbing parts of this out..............slowly. But if enough people are interested we could throw some time into tabbing it out fully. I know I can't do it alone. It's fun as hell to play the parts I have done so far.

can you play that tuning on a standard guitar? i know that one he's playing is an extended scale guitar, but he never said if it was necessary for the tuning he's using...just said it takes it better.
do you use one set of strings, or do you have to mix and match like in Raised B?
