Want to ask about strings, maintenance, amps, mics, or comparisons of different guitars or any music equipment? This is for all threads related to music equipment.
I went to look at guitars today. My options were an Ovation, Takamine, a lower end Martin, and a lower end Taylor. I do not like the style of the ovation. The Martin sounded ok and the taylor was also ok. The Takamine sounded real good but i noticed it was made in some asian country and that turned me off. Does it really matter where it is made? The Taylor and Martin were american made but did not sound as good.
thanks
depends, (btw yes the ovations are shit) country doesnt matter, its more the quality and the name, takamine is a good brand, so country really doesnt come into play.

get whatever sounds good to you. Taks have a pretty solid reputation, so don't sweat it if theyre made overseas. With cheaper guitars its not really much of an issue. Its not till you get into the higher end stuff that you have to watch it.
